Worthing Borough Council Hackney Tariff

This is a tariff of maximum charges which may be made in respect of journeys in a Worthing Hackney Carriage.  If a charge is not shown on the tariff, it may not be charged.  The tariff came into effect on 10th December 2007.

Tariff One, Daytime. (0600 - 2300):

To apply at all times except when tariff two, three or four applies.
For the first 7/9 mile or 420 seconds, or any part thereof,  £3.00
For each subsequent 1/9 mile or 60 seconds, or any part thereof,  £0.20

Tariff Two, Night time, (2300 - 0600):

Includes Public Holidays, except when Tariff Three applies.
For the first 7/11 mile or 350 seconds, or any part thereof, £3.50
For each subsequent 1/11 mile or 50 seconds, or any part therof, £0.20

Tariff Three, Christmas and New Year:

To apply to any hiring on 25th or 26th December and before 0600 on 27th December, and between 2000 on 31st December and 0600 on 1st January.
For the first 10/12 mile or 450 seconds, or any part thereof,  £6.00
For each 1/12 mile or 45 seconds, or any part thereof, £0.30

Tariff Four. Night Time rate, (2300 - 0600):

When starting with five or more passengers.  (No passenger extras may be charged).
For the first 7/11 mile or 350 seconds, or part thereof, £5.50
For each subsequent 1/11 mile or 50 seconds, or any part thereof, £0.25

Extras:

For each passenger in excess of one,  £0.20 - Will not to be charged when Tariff Four is in effect because of the number of passengers being carried.

For each article of luggage carried in the luggage area,  £0.10

The total of all the extras shall not exceed £1.50

A passenger or his animal that soils a taxi shall be liable to a charge not exceeding £100.00.
